Mixed Chicks Hair Products - Review

Having three little girls, who all have a different type of curly hair, can be very challenging. A lot of work and time goes into doing my daughters hair. I have tried numerous (and I mean NUMEROUS) hair products to try to control the frizz, define their curls, and basically make their hair more manageable. I wrote to Mixed Chicks and they gave me some free samples to try. I have not been more impressed with a hair care routine than I am with theirs. They sent me the trial packs for kids and trial packs for adults. They both have the same concept: Shampoo, Condition, and Leave-in conditioner.

Look how sudsy it gets!

Mmm! Lollipops!
The children's pack is the one that I have tried so far. I wash my girls hair once to twice a week. The children's shampoo smells so yummy. Like those little yellow lollipops that come in a clear wrapper. It's nice and light, unlike a lot of shampoos that I have tried. I noticed that when I poured a little in my hand, that a little bit went a long way. I still have nearly the whole trial size package of the shampoo and I washed all three girls hair with it. I put a little water in my hand and applied it right to their hair and it rinsed clean and very easily.

Next I put in the conditioner. It is thick, and unscented. When I say thick I don't mean like heavy and greasy, I mean thick like, a little palmful spreads quite a long ways and it is thicker consistency. I put this in the girls hair and took a wide-tooth shower comb to their curls. I have found that combing while hair has conditioner in it, 1. helps spread the conditioner evenly through the hair, and 2. that it helps detangle much easier and much less painful. I left this conditioner in their hair while they cleaned themselves. Then I rinsed them off, including their hair. Oh, it was soooo soft and smooth. Their curls just soaked it up!

Lastly, there is the Leave-in conditioner. This is unscented as well. It is more of a lotion-ey consistency. This I put in their hair right before they left the tub. Combed it through, and sent them to get their jammies on. When they came to me to get their hair done their hair was just so shiny and bouncy and healthy looking. My youngest, who's hair is more wavy and straight and well... all over the place, had body and definition to her little curly waves. SCORE! I am just so impressed with this haircare system and will definitely be purchasing the full size bottles. The next morning when they woke up, there was noticeably less fly-aways, their hair was shiny and not dull, like a lot of products tend to do. What I was most impressed with was the leave-in conditioner. I have used detangling sprays and "leave in conditioning sprays" but I have never put a conditioner in and left it. I have to say I had qualms about that. I thought "will this leave residue?", "will it irritate their scalp because I am leaving it on" and "will it look greasy?" The answer to all of those I found out was NO. No residue! Their hair ate it right up! No irritation, my oldest said "mommy this makes my hair feel so much better!"
Thank you Mixed Chicks!!!

I can't believe how nice her hair came out.

See how defined and moisturized her hair is!

You can find a variety of products on their website, Mixed Chicks.

If you are interested in just trying their products they offer sample packages (which last much longer than one use) for $0.99 plus S&H. This is a great opportunity to try their products without committing to a whole bottle. I am sure you will be just as impressed as I am!
